Who we are
This website is run by Metacap Financial, an independent insurance brokerage licensed in British Columbia and Ontario. Evan Wang is the licensed insurance broker responsible for it and for the personal information collected here. You can reach us at info@metacapfinancial.com.
What we collect
When you complete the quote survey we collect what you type and select: your first and last name, email address, phone number, date of birth, smoker status, the coverage amount you are considering, how often you exercise, which fitness device you use, which reward interests you most, and, if you choose to tell us, how you heard about us. We do not collect anything from the survey until you press the submit button on the last step.
If you book a call through the booking link, the booking page collects your name, email and the time you choose.
This site does not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. If that changes, this page will be updated first.
Why we collect it
We use your information to prepare a personalised Manulife Vitality quote, to contact you about it, and to book and hold your free consultation. Date of birth and smoker status are needed because life insurance pricing depends on them. We also look at how people found us so we know where to put our effort.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone except as described below.
Who else sees it
We use a small number of trusted service providers to deliver your survey answers to our inbox, to run the consultation booking page, and to host this website. Some of them may store data on servers in the United States. Each provider only receives what it needs to do its job and is bound by its own privacy terms. The insurance company receives your information only if you decide to apply for a policy, and only through the application you sign.
How long we keep it
If you do not go ahead with a quote, we delete your survey answers within 12 months. If you become a client, your file is kept for as long as regulators require insurance brokers to keep client records, and then securely destroyed.
Your rights
Under British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act and Canada’s federal privacy law, you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent and have it deleted. Email info@metacapfinancial.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS, survey answers are sent encrypted, and access to our inbox and client files is limited to Evan Wang. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you give us.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
